Scarab, one of the most venerable names in the history of performance boats, is making a comeback as a line of jet boats. Rec Boat Holdings announced today the introduction of a new line of boats from 16-24 feet that will be powered by BRP Rotax 4-TEC 1503 jet propulsion systems ranging from 140-240 horsepower.

Effective April 1, 2013 Total Dollar Yacht Insurance has expanded its product line under the Full Throttle Insurance Program to include multi engine center consoles. The product is available in all states and will be able to accommodate engine configurations of up to 5 outboards. The coverage will be written with both State National Insurance Company and National Specialty Insurance Company which are A Rated by AM Best and conduct business on an admitted basis in all 50 states with broad navigations including the Bahamas.

The Hatteras 1510 Club has recently announced a name change to The Hatteras Classic Club. The hope is to broaden our membership to include owners and enthusiasts of all Hatteras Yachts. Not just those with a beam of 15'10', a requirement of the previous club, hence the club's name.

The Hatteras 1510 Club was formed September 2000 by eight members and quickly grew to seventy five. The club eventually reached to just under one hundred members worldwide.

Coast Guard Chief Petty Officer Terrell Horne, a Boatswain Mate onboard the Coast Guard Cutter Halibut, died early in the morning of Dec. 2, 2012 from injuries sustained during law enforcement operations near Santa Cruz Island, Calif.

The Halibut was investigating a panga-type vessel suspected of illicit activities.
